Epsom Library and Learning Centre

Please click here to find opening times and events for Epsom Library.

Welcome to the newest and brightest library to have been opened in Surrey in recent years. It replaces older and smaller buildings that have never given us the scope to provide the quality of service that a town the size of Epsom has always required.

Epsom Library- Reading Area

Epsom Library- Internet Access in the Junior Library

No two people use a library for quite the same reason. 65,000 books on a multitude of subjects should satisfy most tastes but if you cannot find what you want, then we will try to find the title you require from anywhere in the country for just a small charge. We have a total of 3,800 videos, CDs and DVDs which are available to hire CD-ROMs can be borrowed free of charge or accessed via our computer terminals.

The advent of the computer has brought about the greatest change within public libraries. Easy and free access to the Internet means that an amazing range of information is now available at click of a mouse. You can also browse our online catalogue to see what is in stock at every Surrey library, set your own reservations, and see what items you have on loan.

The Learning Centre

The Learning Centre

If you are not sure how all this works, staff are always on hand to help, and for those who wish to immerse themselves further in the intricacies of computing, then there is the Learning Centre. Free introductory computing courses and tutorials are offered to those who wish to discover the Internet, word processing, home accounting or just a better knowledge of today's technology.

One of the many advantages of Epsom's new library is that we have room to provide a much larger children's area. Competitions, storytime (Tuesdays 2.15pm-2.45pm) and other attractions complement this colourful part of the building and provide an area that encourages children to use a library throughout their lives.

Whether you need to send a fax, look up your family tree, find a whodunit to read on a long train journey, or even to plan the journey itself. Libraries are the vibrant heart of a community. There is a great deal here. If you cannot find what you need, then please ask!
